As a highly trained and skilled Family Nurse Practitioner Ms. Tara Davis uses an Integrative/Functional Medicine approach to overcome barriers to meet patient health and wellness goals and objectives. Utilizes influencing/motivational interviewing skills to ensure maximum patient engagement and promote lifestyle/behavior changes to achieve an optimum level of health. Provides coaching, education, and support to empower the patient to make ongoing independent medical and/or healthy lifestyle choices. Interprets and utilizes clinical guidelines/criteria to positively impact patient health. Provides up-to-date healthcare information to help facilitate the patient understanding of his/her health status. Helps patients actively and knowledgeably participate with their provider in identifying the problem, the root cause of the issue, and factors that affect their success.
The founder and Owner of Transitional Wellness Center. Mrs. Tara Davis earned her Master of Science in Nursing Degree from the University of South Alabama, School of Nursing in 2006. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University in Norfolk, VA in 1998, after completing a 3 year diploma program in nursing at Abington Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Abington, PA in 1995.
Mrs. Davis’ nursing experience includes Family Practice, Internal Medicine, Hospice, Military Medicine, Women’s Health, and Mental Health. Ms. Davis has worked in hospitals, Community Health Centers, Indian Health Centers, Wellness Centers, and private practice settings located in Virginia, Washington DC, Hawaii, and Georgia. Ms. Davis is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork and she believes in providing holistic integrative care to promote optimal well-being and self-healing. Mrs. Davis is currently enrolled in the Quantum University Ph.D. Integrative Medicine Program with a focus on learning principles of quantum physics.
She is certified in Family Practice by both the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). She is Board Certified in Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork. She is an active member of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M) and has completed the Fellowship Program in Anti-aging and Metabolic Functional Medicine. She has also worked as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant Retired (IBCLC) working with breastfeeding moms and their babies for over 15 years.
Mrs. Davis recognized that she needed to find interventions for optimal health when she experienced a personal health crisis. During her rebuilding and restoration of her own health through nutrient applications and functional integrative medicine approaches, Mrs. Davis was introduced to A4M, and transitioned into a new practice of medicine, and is now committed to promoting a wellness model of medicine, versus a sickness model that approaches health from a disease state.
Tara is also a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine.
Ms. Davis has an 10-year old daughter and has been happily married for 13 years. When she is not working she enjoys spending time with her family, going on vacation, and shopping excursions. Ms. Davis is a member of the Fellowship Bible Baptist Church, Warner Robins, Ga.
Ms. Davis served 25 years in the military as a nurse corps officer (Lt COL Retired) in the United States Air Force Air National Guard. She is a strong supporter of our military and offers a 10% discount to all serving military veterans.
